TradePath Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 2026 · Last Updated: July 2026

TradePath (the "App") values and respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App may process, how that information is used, and your choices. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read this policy.

The App is designed primarily for iPad and iOS (and may also run on Apple Silicon Mac). It follows a local-first architecture: market-monitor preferences, signal views, model and data-source settings, and related workspace data are stored on your device by default. API keys for optional third-party data and AI services are entered by you in the App; when online features are used, requests are sent directly from your device to the providers you configure. Separately, the App may send limited anonymous product-analytics and diagnostic events to our analytics provider, as described below—this does not upload your local monitor database as a default product behavior.

1. Local-First Data Storage

  1. The App follows a local-first architecture. Monitor preferences, saved layouts, model configurations, data-source settings, and related operational data are stored locally on your device by default (for example, in SQLite or local files bundled with the App).
  2. We do not operate a mandatory cloud account for core App features and do not proactively upload the above local business data to our servers, unless a future feature explicitly requires cloud sync and you provide separate consent.
  3. Limited product-analytics and diagnostic events described in Product Analytics and Diagnostics are separate from your local business database and are not a substitute for cloud backup of your workspace.
  4. You may manage, export, or delete relevant local data through App functionality or device-level controls, subject to product capabilities.

2. Data We May Process

  1. Information you provide in the App: such as optional third-party data-source credentials and AI service API keys. These are used only so your device can call the services you select. They remain under your control on the device unless you choose to share them elsewhere.
  2. Network request data: when you use online features such as market data, news, or AI-assisted interpretation, the App transmits only the parameters necessary for those features to the third-party providers you configure or that the App uses for a given feature lane.
  3. Subscription status on device: to unlock paid features, the App may read subscription entitlement signals provided by Apple (for example, through StoreKit) and cache entitlement state locally. We do not receive your full payment card number or Apple ID password through the App.
  4. Support and diagnostic information (optional): if you contact us or enable debugging, we may receive technical information such as error messages, HTTP status codes, App version, and timestamps. Please do not include passwords, API keys, or payment details in support messages unless we explicitly ask for them to resolve an issue.
  5. Product analytics and diagnostics (automatic): to understand feature usage and improve reliability, the App may send limited, anonymous or coarse technical events to our analytics provider, as described in Product Analytics and Diagnostics.

3. Product Analytics and Diagnostics

  1. We use a third-party analytics service (PostHog) hosted in the cloud to collect limited information about how the App is used and whether the App encounters technical failures. These signals help us improve product quality and stability. They are not used for third-party advertising or for cross-app or cross-website tracking for advertising purposes.
  2. What we may collect:
    • Coarse in-app interaction events (product interaction), for example: App open; tab views; starting, completing, or skipping the product tour; opening key features such as data sync or Trade Path; and high-level subscription paywall or purchase-flow interactions (for example, a coarse plan period such as monthly or yearly—not prices or Apple transaction identifiers).
    • Frontend diagnostic events (crash / failure signals), for example: unhandled JavaScript errors or fatal UI failures that prevent the screen from loading.
    • A persistent anonymous identifier stored on the device (a device-level analytics ID) so events from the same App installation can be associated across sessions.
    • A coarse product surface indicator such as iPad or Mac.
  3. What we intentionally do not send in analytics: stock symbols or watchlist contents; prices or order details; email addresses; Apple ID credentials; payment card numbers; API keys; AI prompt bodies; or session replays / screen recordings. Automatic full-page pageview capture and session replay are disabled for this product.
  4. Analytics requests are transmitted from the App over HTTPS to PostHog. PostHog’s processing is also subject to PostHog’s own terms and privacy documentation. Because the App does not require a developer-operated login for standard use, we do not link analytics identifiers to an email address or Apple ID as a default product behavior.

4. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

  1. Paid plans, including auto-renewable subscriptions, are offered through Apple In-App Purchase (IAP). Payment processing, billing, refunds, and subscription management are handled by Apple under Apple's terms and your Apple account settings.
  2. We do not collect or store your full payment card number, bank account details, or Apple ID credentials in connection with IAP. Any purchase receipts or transaction identifiers processed by Apple are subject to Apple's privacy policy and terms.
  3. The App may use Apple's subscription APIs to determine whether a subscription is active, expired, in a trial, or eligible for restoration, solely to provide or restrict in-app features. Final price, billing period, trial terms (if any), and benefit scope are those displayed on the in-app purchase screen at the time of purchase.
  4. You can view, change, or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account: on iOS or iPadOS, open Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions; on macOS, use App Store → Account → Subscriptions. Cancellation must generally be completed at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period to avoid renewal for the next period.
  5. For auto-renewal mechanics, billing timing, and subscription disclosures, see our Auto-Renewal Terms. Use of paid features is also subject to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) where applicable.

5. Data We Do Not Collect

Except as described in this policy, we do not:

  1. Sell your personal information.
  2. Use your local monitor or strategy data for third-party targeted advertising.
  3. Require you to create a separate developer-operated login for standard App use.
  4. Proactively upload your optional API keys or AI prompts to our own servers for storage as a default product behavior.
  5. Include trading symbols, watchlist contents, payment credentials, or Apple ID in product analytics, or use analytics for third-party targeted advertising.

6. Third-Party AI Analysis Services (Important)

  1. When you use AI interpretation or AI analysis features, the App sends the parameters strictly necessary to generate results to the AI provider you configure (or that the feature uses under your settings).
  2. These requests are sent from your device. We do not host your API keys on our servers and do not maintain a standalone, developer-operated chat-history database for those requests by default.
  3. Third-party providers' collection and retention practices are governed by their own privacy policies and terms. Review those documents before enabling a provider.

7. Data Sources and Compliance

  1. Market data, news, and related information may come from third-party data services, including services you configure with your own credentials.
  2. You are responsible for complying with applicable third-party terms, licensing scope, and regulatory requirements when using those services.
  3. We do not sell your personal data and do not share local business data with unrelated third parties for their independent marketing purposes.

U.S. Equities Information-Service Boundary

  1. Information and AI-generated outputs provided by the App are for informational and research-support purposes only. They do not constitute investment advice, an offer, or a guarantee of returns.
  2. Financial markets involve substantial risk. You must make independent decisions and bear the consequences of those decisions.
  3. We are not liable for trading losses arising from third-party data interruptions, delays, errors, rate limits, or access-policy changes.

8. Permissions and Security

  1. The App requests permissions (such as network access and local file access) only to the extent necessary for core functionality on your device.
  2. Please safeguard your device, Apple account, and any locally stored API keys against unauthorized access.
  3. If your device is lost, compromised, or you suspect key leakage, revoke or rotate relevant third-party credentials promptly and review active subscriptions in your Apple account.

9. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

If you are under 18, use the App only with the guidance of a parent or legal guardian.

10. Policy Updates

  1. We may update this policy as the App, applicable law, or App Store requirements evolve.
  2. Updated versions will be published at this URL and, where appropriate, referenced in the App.
  3. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
